latest information about surf spots, hotels, boat
charters, shops, and other travel information, you can help
others have a safe and successful trip.
We have tried to designed Get Some Surf to be easier to use and with more information than other surf spot sites. With our interactive maps you can use the hybrid feature and see the satellite view with roads to help you plan your next surf trip or vacation. We want to provide you a place to pass on and get the latest information related to travel and surfing that is available. If you have a bad experience or a good one, we want to know. Reward those who have treated you right and give them a great review and if not, here is your chance to make sure nobody else has the same problem. Well, we finally made it to Playa Guiones and Nosara but we had a few problems on the way. We arrived to find a rental car with a dead battery and our surfboards somewhere between the States and Costa Rica missing in action. Both the rental car company and the airline assured us that all would be fine. We ended up spending an extra hour with the rental car but ended up with a nice upgrade for free and some great customer service. The airline could not find the boards in the system but they showed up up on the next scheduled flight. They delivered them from the airport for us but we ended up missing the delivery guy. Coconut Harry's surf shop saved the day when they signed for the boards. "Big thanks" to Coconut Harry's.

We are counting down the last few days before our trip to Nosara Costa Rica. We have confirmed all of our vacation arrangements and we are packing the final items. It looks like Playa Guiones is expecting a few swells for our arrival and we can't wait to get you some photos and videos. We will be renting a three bedroom house when we arrive and plan to do a lot of cooking ourselves. We have rented houses for most of our vacations and have learned this is the cheapest way to see some great places. If you are planning to rent a house or villa for your first time and like to cook, don't forget to bring your favorite spices. They are often hard to find and costly if you do.
